Pushkin, 28th of December.
27th December 2009 a blitz-tournament took place in the chess club named after A.Alekhine to honour the 80th anniversary of a chess candidate master, oldest member of the club, fine pedagogue, translator of English, etc. simply remarkable man Sergeev Vassiliy Vassilievich. Many warm words were addressed to hero of the chess evening by S.A.Rumiantcev, director of chess club and also by guest and friends, who came to wish good health to the veteran. Vassiliy Vassilievich was handed in precious gifts and souvenir shaped as victory goddess Nika. I think, it is quite symbolic, Sergeev V.V. lived a saturated and very fruitful creative life time which is to continue... If it were not he, the English mirror of my site could not exist in the shape it exists. Vassiliy Vassilievich is always ready to share his enormous life experience, help if need be, participates in chess tournaments again and again! Love of life, love of chess; love of people, say finally, allow Sergeev V.V. to keep his working capability and longevity. He is a continue visitor of the chess club named after A.Alekhine, and brings all the kind and eternal to his pupils. And may God give you many years!

The competition was rather well organized. Truth, due to quarantine, parents were in uneasy conditions they had to expect for their children in “the dressing room” on the ground storey of “SDYuSHOR ShSh”
(Sport Children & Youth School, Olympic Reserve Draughts & Chess). Children were met given memorable badges, lot-drawing was somewhat late, and referees were not always polite and alternative. But I am sure drawback will become less and away with time. All those who passed selection to participate in the championship of Russia 2010, let them receive our congratulations! Other youths and girls got priceless experience; we must thank them for their participation, and their parents for endurance and patience! Great thanks I.P.Ignatiev for his kindly given photo-materials.

St.Petersburg, December 14.
Yesterday the match-tournament dedicated to the memory of Grandmaster Konstantin Nikolaevich Aseev was conducted in the chess club named after B.Spassky according to a scheveningen system, the third year (!) running already. Young international masters, born 1990 and less withstood a team of ten experienced players. The team body’s coach had 11 Grandmasters and seven International masters.
Time control per game was rather right, eight minutes plus two seconds per a move. As a result of entertaining struggle the match ended with a score of 58,5 : 41,5 in favor of "the experience".
The best results winners were shown by Grandmasters E.Alekseev 8 (10), V.POPOV 7 (9) and D.Yevseev 7,5 (10), among the young Grandmasters A.Shimanov 6 (10), D.Linvhevsky and FM A.Goganov - 5 (10) each. The body “experienced players” strengthened appreciably in comparison with say, the past year. In spite of the convincing victory of the eldest, the youth tried the best. As an
eye-witness of the event I can say that in full responsibly. True, one must come to any competition in optimal physical form. In this respect the young turned out obviously losing, experience comes with years. Organizer of the competition were children’s chess club named after B.Spassky DD(Yu)T of Moscowsky district, Trainer Council of the Sankt Petersburg Chess Federation, mass committee of St.Petersburg Chess Federation, Marina Aseeva. After the tournament an opinion was expressed its form exhausted itself. Well, it is possible however; the tournament is needed in many respects. First of all, as a memory tribute to grandmaster K.N.Aseev, Who devoted himself to serve the chess art.
