St.Petersburg, 2nd of October. Nobody ever has written of St.Petersburg Cup at rapid chess there are no tables in Internet. I try in part to fill in an evident information want. Men have played at three stages. First category chessplayers and master candidates with 2000 ELO, or having not at all have played at the first one, other master candidates have joined those who passed selection have done at the second. The last stage has been carried out according to a knock-out system, and 64 chessplayers at two "fifteen-minutes" have detailed the two strongest for a final.

St.Petersburg, 1st of October. 85 boys and 30 girls have been fighting nine days for a title of the strongest in the championship of St.Petersburg in an age category till 10 years old. There is no place for boredom and compromise in children's competitions. Here every young chessplayer is intent on victory, however, the victory does not always come. And not so seldom, when children who have not exchanged second ten are dropping bitter tears due to their sudden defeat. Probably it is justified. And the great ones in their childhood were crying as well.

Petrodvoretc, 12nd of August. Well, happy days for little children and even grown-up chessplayers of the 55-th festival "Peterhof - 300 - Petrovskaya Ladya" which was devoted to the 300-th anniversary of Peterhof foundation flew away. The organizers worked wonderfully. They pleased with accommodation and play halls, and no speaking of the variety of tournaments.

Pardubice, 4th of August. The chess festival "Czech Open - 2005" passed fifteen (sixteen ??)** times in Czech town Pardubice having 90-thousand population. I asked "Czech Tour" director Dr.Jan Mazuch to say of its features and many other things.

St.Petersburg, 12nd of July. In a hot July evening in one of spacious halls of the "Nevsky Palace" hotel the St.Petersburg chess federation carried out a comradeship rapid chess match between the selection teams of Saint Petersburg and New York. The article
St.Petersburg, 5th of July. St.Petersburg, 29th of June. White nights are beyond the polar circle in June. And such name tournaments are traditionally carried out in the city on the river Neva. The last of them, International "White Nights - 2005" had been completed the day before in the CChC (City Chess Club) named after M.I.Chigorin. There started 122 chessplayers from Armenia, Germany, Israel Latvia, Russia, Ukraine and Estonia.
