1-10 rounds will be take place between 2nd and 12nd of August, start in 3 p.m.,
11st round - in 10 a.m.
The 6th of August is a rest day. Tournament will take place in
Bolshoi Hall of Culture Palace.
August, 1st opening the tournament "Young Stars of the World" was held. It has turned not simply to the dramatized representation, as well as, is planned. Visitors and participants of tournament from the entrance in the Palace of Culture have come to be in the fantastic chess country. Her heroes were chess figures which have come to life as on touching a magic wand! Everyone has felt himself involved in a huge holiday to which professional statement might envy and a capital stage. Artist's stars of "BDT", "TYS", chorus of TV (5-th channel) and still many show taking part in it have left an indelible trace in children's souls, so yearned on the present holidays. During opening the spectator has visited and at solemn assembly, both theatre, and in a chapel, listening to symphonic music. Well, the main director of all action as a whole, and under the report the director of tournament, the deserved trainer of Russia G.E.Nesis is. "I have given half year of life on the organization of this tournament. The best here are collected... And there will be still a closing, welcome, don't forget " - Gennady Efimovich has shared with representatives of press. To tournament which call to as "Young Stars of the World", were issued beautiful programs and singles with the image of Vanya Somov, whose memory is devoted one. Short and bright Vanya's life has tragically broken on 13-th year, and he might under the right be the participant of this tournament... Small film about young man was to look uneasy, some might not constrain some tears. Gennady Efimovich, trainer Vani has devoted him memory a poem. During an official part with greetings the governor of Leningrad Region V.P.Serdyukov, the chapter of administration MO "Kirishi-region" have acted as N.I.Komarov, greetings of world champions V.Kramnik and A.Khalifman, and also of the president of the Russian chess federation of Alexander Zhukov were read. Great organizational work was carried out by representatives of Open Company "PO Kirishinefteorgsintez". Realization of such scale action without their support would be rather problematic. Among participants of tournament are World champions in different age categories, champions of the countries, cities and areas. I do not doubt, struggle for prize-winning places will be persistent, and I shall not be afraid of an ordinary phrase "Good luck!"

In the competiotion are participated 24 teams from 16 countyes of the World. Russian team: Champion of Russia (up to 16) Alexey Lanin (St.Petersburg), Nikolay Pokazaniev, Evgeny Tomashevsky, Igor Lysyj and Pavel Ponkratov.
In the first round our team won a victoty over team from Republic of SOUTH AFRICA 3.5:0.5.
Second round Russia - India 2:2. Russian team has 5.5 points (5-9 places).
Third round. Georgia - Russia - 2:2.
Fourth round. Russia - KAZAKHISTAN 3.5:0.5.
Fifth round. UZBEKISTAN - Russia 1.5:2.5
Russian team has 13.5 points (2-5 places)
Sixth round. Hungary - Russia 2:2
Seventh round. Russia - Ukraine 2.5:1.5. Russian team has 2-4 places.
Eighth round. Israil - Russia 2.5:1.5
Ninth round. Russia - Turkey "B" 4:0.
Tenth round. Iran-Russia 0.5:3.5.
Result. Russian team took fouth place (27 points). The first place - Hungurian team - 29.5 points. The second one - Ukraine - 28, and the third - India 27.5 Best of all participants of Russian team was Pavel Ponkratov (2286). He took 7.5 points from 8 (93.75%).

In the final there were two international grand masters A.Lugovoj and V.Popov. Alexey this time has won and has won the Cup of city on a fast chess. In a match for the third place of IM of E.Shaposhnikov has won KM N.Vitjugov.

In the final there was most experienced Elena Bystrjakova (IM), and the grand master, champion of St.Petersburg of the year Olga Stjazhkina. Olga had advantage on a course of game, but has won E.Bystrjakova, having won the Cup of city 2003!
